Hi there! Welcome! January, February, and March always feel a little cold and gray here on the east coast, so I like to find things to do to keep busy after the holiday season! Brunch with friends and family is something I always enjoy this time of the year. It’s such a popular thing to do around here, so today’s post is all about what to wear to a winter brunch.
Despite the lack of warm sun, I love bundling up in a comfortable and chic look for a long meal – maybe there’s a bloody mary, maybe there are mimosas or regular orange juice! Whatever you prefer, I’ve put together a bunch of outfits that will keep you stylish and warm while you spend time with people you love – and enjoy good food.
12 Winter Brunch Outfit Ideas
Okay, let’s look at winter brunch outfit ideas!

The Basics: Jeans and A Neutral Sweater
I recently wore the look above in Boston, but I would definitely wear this to brunch. The loafers I linked are different than the pair in my photo, but they are one of my most worn pairs of shoes. I own them in a cognac color. They are so comfortable and didn’t need to be worn a bunch before they were comfortable, which I love.
Blazer and Cashmere Sweater Outfit for Brunch Anywhere
A blazer and a cashmere sweater with your favorite jeans and boots is an outfit I go to all the time. It’s comfortable, warm, and I feel good in it! Plus, this is probably already an outfit you have in your closet. It’s an easy look to recreate. I love an oversized blazer like the one I’m wearing below. It has more give to it when you’re eating than a lady jacket or fitted blazer might have. You can drape it over your shoulders if you want to while you’re eating.
I recreated this look in grey using the same sweater, jeans, boots, socks, and sunglasses. So, the only thing that isn’t the same product is the blazer! I love the blazer brand – it runs slightly big, so you may consider sizing down one size.
Oversized Sweater For Casual Brunch
Sunday brunch reminds me of my early 20s because my girlfriends and I would always go out to brunch somewhere to debrief about the weekend. It was so fun! Anyway, an oversized sweater and leggings are kind of perfect for this type of casual brunch with friends! I would also wear a baseball cap and my favorite earrings. Since we are talking about winter brunch, I would add an extra layer of warmth with a big cashmere scarf that you can wear through the meal or take it off when you eat!
I’m wearing this sweater with jeans in the photo here, but I wanted you to be able to see the sweater! You may want to layer it with a tissue turtleneck or a long sleeve top.
Knit Sweater and Matching Boots
Gray is such a good color for this time of the year! I love this gray sweater for anything – I wear it around the house or out in the world! It’s work appropriate too! I linked a bunch of gray sweaters that would be cute with jeans and gray ankle boots. My jeans are a lighter wash denim, and they have a gray undertone, which is why I think they work so well with my sweater.
I also love this outfit with any of the shoes I included below – loafers, ballet flats, and sneakers!
Sweater Dress and Boots to Stay Warm
Knee high boots paired with a sweater dress is the perfect brunch outfit for a cold day when you need to look nice. Let’s say you’re meeting your significant other’s parents, for example! You’ll be chic and oh so warm. The right sweater dress will go a long way in your closet, too. You can wear it to work or brunch. I love these knee high boots to wear under other dresses or with skirts.
Leather Pants Outfit For Brunch Date
One of my girlfriends wore these leather pants recently, and they are just so cute and flattering. These are perfect if you’re going on a winter brunch date. You can pair these with so many different tops, shoes, and accessories depending on where you’re going.
I love the cashmere sweater with the green pants. The black blouse would be cute with the black pants for a monochrome look, but you could also wear it with the green pair!
Wide Leg Jeans for Winter Brunch
If you’ve read any of my other blog posts, you might’ve seen this photo (and some of the others here) before. But, I love to rewear my looks as much as possible – it’s the point of how I shop – so I hope you don’t mind. I always aim for versatility when I put together a look, and I hope you can see how many different ways you can wear the pieces I share. These wide leg jeans are an example of jeans I’ve worn so many times and for different occasions. I recently wore them on a date with my husband, and I also wore them to dinner with girlfriends.
Anyway, they’re a great jean option for a brunch where you want to dress up a little bit but still wear denim. Pair them with any top or sweater. If you choose to wear a blazer, lady jacket, or cardigan, I would go for a shorter or cropped style so the jeans can accentuate your legs!
My exact jeans are the first pair linked. I also own the second and third pair in a different color (see them on me here).
Black Culotte Jeans and Combat Boots
This is my favorite brunch outfit idea because it’s super chic and it’s a timeless look. Navy and black are a classic pairing in my opinion. You can wear this to brunch anywhere. I especially love it for a city vacation. I would definitely wear this in DC, but I love it for New York, LA, London, and Paris too!
I also linked a navy blue blouse that I love with these jeans. The first sweater is my exact sweater.
Occasion Dress For A Celebratory Brunch
These dresses are for you if you’re attending an event that’s over brunch. Think a baby shower, engagement celebration, bridal celebration, birthday brunch, or any other type of celebration! I would pair any of these dresses with these boots! Wear the belt around the black sweater dress to elevate the look.
Trendy Denim and A Classic Sweater
This outfit is another option to consider if you’re heading to a casual brunch. You could wear booties with this look too. My ribbed half zip sweater is a classic piece that pairs well with these trendier jeans. I love the color of my sweater, but it comes in a lot of other options too. I like a bracelet sleeve when you’re eating so it doesn’t get in your way!
Work Appropriate Brunch Outfit
Okay, this outfit idea might seem odd, but I’ve been in several jobs where I attended a breakfast for work and needed to dress the part! I love this look for a work breakfast or work brunch. You’ll be comfortable, work appropriate, and chic.
Monochrome Winter Brunch Outfit Idea
If you’ve ever read my blog, then you probably already know I love monochrome looks. It’s my favorite type of outfit, so I had to include one here! The color of these pants and sweater is called wine. It’s a nice color for winter, but you can also wear it into spring and definitely in the fall.
