Hi and welcome!! Let’s chat about a color I love to wear and some ideas on how to wear it! Okay, if you were to look in my closet, you’d see a ton of neutral pieces that I regularly mix and match. However, I’ve always loved green, and I’ve been trying to incorporate it more and more into my closet.
If you’re a neutral lover like me, you might find green intimidating to use in outfits. But, I think it’s a good option since green doesn’t have to be too dramatic like a bright red might be. There are so many different shades of green out there right now when it comes to sweaters, tops, or even pants, so there is a perfect shade of green for any season.
Ten Green Outfit Ideas
Here’s a roundup of green outfit ideas with green pieces I love! You can wear some of these looks for work, and some of them are meant to be worn on the weekend, to lounge at home, or for travel!

Striped Green Top For Work and Weekend
My striped green and white button up is a go-to piece for me, and it works for a casual weekend look like mine or for your office. I wore this outfit to take my baby out to breakfast! I also wear the button up open in the warmer months with a tank top under it. It’s oversized, which makes it even more versatile than a traditional style button up. I really love how the buttons are covered, too! It’s on sale at the moment.
Sage Green Blouse For Spring
I’m so looking forward to spring right now because it’s been gloomy here for the past week, so let’s start with a sage green outfit idea. A lighter shade of green like this sage blouse is perfect to wear now and all throughout the spring. I love how the detailed pattern is the same color as the rest of the top. This is such an elegant top that will dress up jeans or pair perfectly with work trousers. It will look nice with any type of shoe. If you shop this blouse, it runs large!
Olive Green Lightweight Pants
Pants are perfect for adding a subtle color into your look like this olive green. And, honestly, the color of these pants seems so close to a neutral to me. I recently purchased them, and I can tell they will go with a lot! You could also wear them with beige tones instead of black, which is what I styled them with below. I love them with this off the shoulder top for a date night look this spring.
You can wear these pants to work too. I also picked these up in a taupe color. These are a crepe pant that will be great to wear in the spring, summer, and fall with ballet flats, slingbacks, or sneakers.
You can see this look on me here – the top and pants are the same. I haven’t worn it out yet, but I did do a video try-on of the look. This is a little off topic, but if you’re ever wondering if you love an outfit, take a photo or video of it, and then come back to it later to see what you think! Most of the time, I know right away whether a look is for me when I do this.
Olive Green Lightweight Pants For Work
Okay, these pants are such a good find because of their versatility. So, I wanted to make a second look with them, and this one is work appropriate. You can pair these with pretty much any top or sweater. They would look nice with a classic button up in white or blue, or this cropped length sweater, for example. They’re pretty high waisted, so a cropped sweater would tuck in easily!
Green Sweater Outfit For Work or Weekend
I’ve worn this particular cashmere sweater for many years, and I am always impressed with the quality of each one I buy. I was excited to see these pretty green options! I love the lighter green for spring, and this sweater is the perfect weight to wear into spring too.
This type of outfit – a sweater with jeans and whatever shoes are appropriate – is my go-to look on a weekend. I layer over it as necessary! But, you’ll always feel put together and chic. These looks have the perk of being comfortable, which is even more important to me now that I’m a mom.
Emerald Green Dress For Work
This emerald green dress is such a stunning color, and it’s the perfect tailored work for a big day at work. The button details on the sleeves really add an extra detail to this dress that sets it apart from other shirt dresses. I always like to have outfits like this in my closet for work, especially for big days with an important meeting or presentation. This dress will look nice with brown boots or any neutral heels – these are my most worn work heels because they’re really comfortable.
If you’re a ponytail gal, I love a ponytail or sleek bun with this type of dress.
Olive Green Pleated Skirt
Pleated skirts are a closet staple if you ask me! I wear them all the time in every season. The color of this green skirt is perfect to wear year round. Pleated skirts are also fabulous because you can wear them to work with boots or ballet flats, or wear them for a casual outfit with sneakers. I love the look of this skirt with a tailored cardigan. It goes perfectly with these on-trend Adidas for a casual outfit.
Green Quilted Jacket
Quilted jackets are super chic, but I also think they can be quite edgy in green. It’s the perfect combination if you ask me! Style any of these quilted jackets with black denim or a black slip skirt and boots for an edgy vibe, or wear it with a girly blouse, blue denim, and ballet flats for a classic look.
I love that you can wear these jackets in the fall as well.
Khaki Green Coat For Winter, Spring, and Fall
If you’re bored of a black, brown, or gray coat, this khaki green wrap coat is perfect because it goes with everything too. I own this coat in camel, and I can attest to how comfortable and warm it is! It fits really easily over all of your winter outfits, which is important to me. I hate feeling like I’ve had to stuff my clothes and myself into a coat! I’m wearing it below in camel.
Beach Wedding Guest Dress
If you’re heading to a wedding by the sea, let me start by saying – I’m jealous! I love this subtle green in this dress, and it also just looks super comfortable. More room for wedding desserts. The other thing I love about this look is that you can wear high heels and lots of accessories, or you can keep your jewelry simple – which is what I would do, ha!
I would wear these Loeffler Randall heels. I bought this same pair in a different pattern last year to wear to weddings, and they’re super comfortable. I’m really not a high heel gal, but gosh, these are so easy to walk in and they were comfortable all night. I’m looking forward to wearing them again for a few weddings I have this year!
Green Accessories For Winter
I’ve loved a lot of the green accessories I’ve seen come out throughout winter. This cashmere beanie and green socks would be so cute to wear with this green set. You could also wear these with a more neutral loungewear set. Click here to see the beanie on me. I recently purchased it, and I love it.
Are you wearing green more this year? Let me know what you think, or if there’s another color you’re loving this year! I also recently wrote a post on styling white pieces, so click here to read what goes with white pants if you’re interested!
