Hello, hello! It’s hard to believe it’s July and that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here again. I spent a bit of time looking through the preview and decided to cover the sale again – I do enjoy covering the sale but of course like to make sure there are pieces I really want to share. Anyway, I hope it’s helpful to you! I always prioritize quality items that you can wear more than once, over the course of several years, or pieces that are closet heroes.
The Best Pieces To Buy From The Nordstrom Sale
If you’re looking for the top items to buy in the Nordstrom sale, these are my picks! Everyone’s closet is obviously different, but these pieces will work across different styles. If you’re looking for outfit ideas, I’ve included quite a few of those here too.

My booties are the perfect chameleon to go with just about anything in your closet, whether your prefer black, beige, brown, gray, or bright colors. I took them for a little test, and I love how comfortable they are. They’re the perfect height to wear with jeans, work trousers, or a maxi skirt. The exact booties I’m wearing are fully stocked, and they also come in black! I’m wearing my normal size. These were kindly sent to me as a gift, but I had been eyeing them in the sale so I was very excited to receive them. Shop them here!
Neutral Boots For Fall And Winter
Boots are notoriously expensive, so if you’re looking for a new pair, then I would definitely check these out. Nordstrom included great brands like Stuart Weitzman, Veronica Beard, and AllSaints. If you want a super chic boot that’s also waterproof, be sure to look at the Blondo boots included in the sale. I love that a lot of their boots are suede. I included a pair of Blondo boots below but you can also shop them here. My suede Blondo boots have lasted me forever, and they are definitely waterproof.
Okay, I’ve included a bunch of gorgeous boots below, but I wanted to highlight this pair by Vince because I own and love an older version of these booties (see the photo below), and I’ve gotten a lot of use out of them! I purchased mine in the Nordstrom Sale a few years ago. Anyway, the heel is the perfect height to add a polished, chic touch to your outfit and still easy to walk in. In addition to the gray option, I was excited to see they also come in brown suede and black leather this year.
There are also a pair of green crocodile inspired boots that are similar to the pair I’m wearing below, which are old by Schutz. The pair in the Nordstrom Sale have a smaller heel.
A Quality Long Sleeve, Oversized White T-Shirt
My exact long sleeve top that I’m wearing below is included in the sale. I’m including it here first because you can see what it actually looks like on me! The top comes in white, gray, and a light pink. It’s a 100 percent cotton top, so it’s super soft. My favorite feature is the length – it is perfect to wear with leggings, but it easily tucks into a skirt or jeans. See below for how I styled it two ways. This is an all around great layering top for spring, winter, and fall for anyone, but it’s perfect for anyone who is pregnant.
SIZING: It definitely runs large, so size down one size if you are not pregnant. If you are pregnant, you might consider purchasing your normal size. I had quite a baby bump, ha, and my normal size small fit me throughout my pregnancy! Now that I’m not pregnant, I would go with a size XS!
Penny Loafers
These loafers are the perfect shoe to take you from summer through fall. They will look nice with jeans, work pants, a dress, or a skirt outfit, so they’re super versatile. I especially love the dark navy and the tan suede. Veronica Beard is known for making beautiful pieces!
Leather Jacket
Since having my little babe, I’ve realized my beloved leather jacket that I’ve had for about a decade or more just doesn’t fit me the same. I love a leather jacket for fall, so I’ve been eyeing the different options included in the sale. This navy blue one is gorgeous, and I also love this brown faux leather jacket. Both of these would look nice with the loafers I mentioned above. Anyway, there are actually a lot of really good options included in the sale if you’re also searching for a leather jacket!
Designer Sunglasses: Celine Sunglasses And YSL Sunglasses
If you love sunglasses as much as I do, this is a great opportunity to get a pair of designer sunglasses on sale. For me, sunglasses will outlast a lot of other items in my closet. I absolutely love the Celine oval sunglasses, and this Gucci pair are on my wish list. I also put together several outfit ideas that include these sunglasses!
I live in these Celine sunglasses that I’m wearing below. They are sadly not part of the sale. However, I did notice this Kate Spade pair have a very similar shape and general vibe. In fact, they are actually the same measurements as mine, which are the 55 mm. I hesitate to share “similar” pieces, but these really surprised me with how similar they are!
Cashmere And Wool Sweaters
The Nordstrom Sale is a great opportunity to purchase sweaters that are made of high-end materials like cashmere or wool. These are the pieces that you’ll wear a lot, so it’s worth investing in them when possible. You can wear these pieces by themselves or under a jacket or blazer. I also included several cardigans that will be perfect to layer with in the fall, winter, and spring!
This short sleeve Vince sweater is on my personal wish list. I love this caramel, brown color, but it also comes in a beautiful navy or gray.
On-Trend Red Leather Slingback Or Red Ballet Flats
The Nordstrom Sale is also a good place to give a trend a try. While ballet flats and red are definitely both trendy right now, they’re also classics – so it’s the best of both worlds. These are pieces you can keep in your closet to wear year after year. Jeans, a simple top or sweater, and a quality flat is a great go-to outfit to keep on hand in your closet (or to wear all the time). This is exactly the type of outfit I go for most of the year, so I included it in outfit ideas below.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Outfit Ideas You Can Wear Right Now And Through The Fall
I’ve put together a lot of outfit ideas that you can wear right now and later – and there is another section of outfit ideas below this one that’s full of outfits to wear once the weather is cool. I only included pieces I would wear from the sale. So, you won’t always find accessories like a matching bag. I don’t think the sale excelled in the handbag area this year, but there are other gorgeous accessories like sunglasses, and I included those for most outfits. I wear my Celine sunglasses all the time, so I was excited to see several pairs by Celine included in the sale!
Navy Midi Dress With Black Sandals Or Navy Loafers
This navy blue midi dress is the perfect piece to wear right now with sandals, heeled sandals, or loafers – it all depends on where you’re going. Plus, you can layer it with this super chic black denim jacket to take the look through the fall! The stars on the jacket are fun and faint enough to not overpower the jacket or the outfit you’re wearing with it.
Linen Indigo Dress
If you live in a warmer climate where fall temperatures are not anywhere in sight (hello, DC), then this linen dress is a great option to grab during the sale – once the July 4th holiday comes, I don’t always love to shop for summer clothes even though the temperatures are hotter than ever. Anyway, I love how this color works for fall too, even if you aren’t getting fall temperatures soon. You can also do a lot with shoes to change the vibe of this outfit. I love it with sandals as much as I do with sneakers. There’s nothing like linen when it’s hot outside!
Casual Midi Dress With Sneakers
This off-white midi dress is perfect to wear right now with sandals or sneakers. Then, once the weather cools down, you can layer it with this gorgeous Rag & Bone cardigan.
Cotton Top With Butterfly Sleeves And Red Leather Shoes
This white blouse is the perfect mix between a t-shirt and a blouse. I love it! It’s one of those pieces you can wear through the summer, fall, and spring. In my experience, the brand, Rails, runs a little big, so you might size down one size if you’re between sizes or petite. Pair with on-trend red shoes and these fun Celine sunglasses if you’re lucky enough to grab them!
Cotton Top With Butterfly Sleeves And Neutral Shoes
You can also change the entire vibe of this outfit just by changing your shoes – this is something I say often and swear by it! Anyway, elevate your look with a pair of kitten heels or wear it to work with loafers. If you go for the kitten heels, pair it with this cute summery purse, which is also included in the sale! It would be the perfect clutch to carry on a date night or night out with friends.
I also love these slingbacks for fall and spring. While they pair perfectly with this outfit, they will go with so many other outfits. I linked them in the camel suede option, but they also come in black!
Blue And White Button Up With Loafers
This blue and white striped button up is a great example of something you can wear now and later because it’s 100 percent cotton. It goes perfectly with this lighter wash denim and neutral tan loafers. Plus, the loafers are woven, which makes them ideal to wear all year – excluding winter (on the east coast anyway). These loafers also come in white if you’re looking for a shoe that has more of a summer feel!

Are you looking for a dress to take you from summer through fall and one you can wear again in the spring? This dress is it! I love the color choices for this dress, and it’s really a perfect outfit for work. You can wear it with ballet flats, loafers, slingbacks, or kitten heels. This ruched floral top was too cute not to include in multiple outfits. Plus, this sale is a good time to buy pieces you will wear more than once. I love how you can style this feminine top with edgier pieces or classic pieces – this outfit falls under the latter. These booties are a nice color to be able to wear with just about anything – taupe is a great chameleon – they would also look nice with the outfit idea above this one. Chic Flowy Pants And Belted Denim Jacket
This is one of my favorite outfit ideas from the sale. These Reiss pants are tailored and polished, and they’ll be perfect for travel, work, or a nice weekend look. If you aren’t familiar with Reiss, they’re a British brand and their pieces are very well made. I styled these pants to wear for something more casual or for travel. This is the exact type of outfit I would wear straight off the plane to a city vacation in the fall, spring, or winter. But, the great thing about these pants is you can wear them to work or out too. They’d be really cute with a pair of kitten heels or slingbacks.
This longline denim jacket with a belt is such a chic take on a classic. You can style it closed like it is below or wear it open like a blazer. I love it with these pants, but you can wear it with so much more – like a dress, a skirt, black jeans, or other trousers.
Every Day Outfit: Striped Cardigan And Loafers With Jeans
This is the type of outfit you will wear again and again! I love this look because it’s super polished and EASY! I love a no fuss look. if you’re looking for basics, I would look at these items. I am obsessed with these Gucci sunglasses. Like I said, the sunglasses included in this sale are pretty impressive! I also linked a couple of other cardigans that you could wear with this outfit that are closet staples – they’re all made up of quality materials like cashmere, wool, or alpaca blend.
