Hi there! With the cold weather here to stay for a few months, I thought it was a good time to talk about coats. Specifically, teddy coats! Teddy coats have always been one of my favorite types of outerwear, whether a short, casual jacket or a true coat. They’re so cozy!
Okay, I was very pregnant in this photo. And, I turned to this coat constantly when I first had my baby. It was so cold outside, so this kept me warm when I was running to tons of doctor appointments! I love that I can still wear it now.

Teddy Coat for Everyday Use
My coat above is the teddy coat you can wear with anything, so I had to feature it first! While I mentioned I purchased it right after I had my baby, this teddy coat is a classic teddy coat for anyone! Wear it with jeans, a sweater dress, or tailored pants and a nice top – it will seriously look nice with anything. It’s the perfect neutral! This Ugg teddy coat is very similar to mine.

Next up is a casual option. This faux sherpa jacket would pair well with jeans or loungewear outfits. Of course, I love the tan option, but I’ve seen the other colors in store and they’re very pretty, especially the green. It’s kind of a muted green – like a sea grass! Green is a really popular color right now, and it goes so well with neutrals.
Teddy Coat for Work Outfits
I love this burgundy color for a work coat! I normally go for a black, gray, navy, or tan coat for work, but I think this will look nice with a lot of neutral looks or outfits with pops of color. Oversized Teddy Fleece
I bought this teddy fleece when I needed something warm and cozy to be able to wear inside and outside after my baby was born. It was perfect for being able to go on short walks or take my dog out. It’s actually that warm! I highly recommend this one! You can see it on me here in a video – I just wore it the other day!
Teddy Coat for Loungewear Looks
Varley makes the cutest and softest off duty pieces, but they’re also all elevated. Their loungewear is exactly what I think of when I want something that I can wear out of the house! They also happen to make a really cute sherpa jacket that I had to include here (first jacket I linked below) – this would pair with a lot of different types of pants, including jeans or brown trousers.
Long Teddy Coat for Casual Wear
I’ve been eyeing this jacket in brown for months now! Of course, black is always a good option when it comes to outerwear, and it’s available in black too. Either way, these are perfect neutral coats to wear over leggings or sweatpants. This is the type of coat you can live in for errands, walking the dog, going for a walk, commuting to a workout class or the gym, or other exercise outdoors. I liked these other two coats for the same purposes, so I included them as well!
Teddy Lady Jacket
I came across this teddy lady jacket in my research for this blog post. The tailored look of a lady jacket in general is the reason I love it. I feel like it instantly elevates any look I wear, and it’s so cute in a teddy version! The beige tan color is perfect for wearing it into early spring, too. This lady jacket will look nice with jeans or pants, and you can definitely wear it to work over a sheath dress or with a skirt.
Edgy Style Teddy Coat
I love to wear a leather jacket to give a classic outfit some edge. Each of these jackets will do just that! They would look nice with tailored jeans and a cream sweater. For shoes, I’d wear loafers or boots.
Brown Reversible Shearling Jacket
If you’re looking for an investment jacket, this one (first link below) is my favorite by far. It’s the perfect color to wear with jeans or trousers, your favorite jewelry, and pretty much any pair of shoes. I love when a single item in your outfit can totally elevate and change an entire look for the better – and this jacket is definitely one of those pieces.

They’re Versatile
Teddy coats are surprisingly versatile. If you go for a longer teddy coat, it will look just as nice over a dress as with a pair of leggings or jeans. They’re work appropriate, too, so wear your teddy coat anywhere!
They Aren’t Going Out of Style
While something like a teddy coat might feel trendy, I don’t think it will go out of style any time soon. So, you shouldn’t feel like this is the type of coat you’ll purchase one year and not be able to wear the next. I’m keeping mine for years to come! Just think about how well known Max Mara is for their teddy coats!
