Hi there! Thanks so much for stopping by today to talk loungewear outfits. I grew up bouncing from one practice to another for sports. So loungewear and athletic looks have always been a big part of my wardrobe and lifestyle. I think I got my first pair of Sambas in elementary or middle school, ha!

Loungewear Style For All Seasons
Anyway, I initially had the idea for this blog post when we were all venturing back into the world, and I had quite the loungewear collection from the pandemic. Loungewear is still so popular, so I wanted to share a few ways I like to wear it that I think you may find useful too. Loungewear can be very chic! To set expectations, we aren’t talking about wearing these pieces to the office. But, depending on what loungewear you’re choosing to style, you can wear them to brunch, errands, dinner, gatherings with friends and family, or to work from home.
In the fall, winter, and spring
I love to layer a sweatshirt or a hoodie under a blazer with jeans. I especially like doing this with an oversize blazer. You can easily add accessories like a belt or earrings to elevate your loungewear look. Cashmere hoodies are a great option for this look because they’re typically not bulky, but they’re still very warm.
My next tip isn’t groundbreaking! But, I also like to wear sweatshirts with jeans for running errands, or going to coffee or lunch. There are so many cute sweatshirts that you can wear out! I love this cotton blend henley sweatshirt for this type of look. It definitely doesn’t even look like loungewear, but it’s clearly very cozy and will look nice with jeans or trousers. Varley and Alo also make great sweatshirts to wear with jeans.
In the summer
Biker shorts with an oversized top is one of my go-to outfits to survive the humidity we get here on the US east coast! If you’ll be inside, flowy loungewear pants go well with a t-shirt or cropped top and sandals. While I wouldn’t wear this to dinner or for errands, I love this type of look for relaxing with friends and family.
Loungewear You Can Wear Outside
Okay, if you’re looking for something easy to wear out, then matching sets are for you. A matching loungewear set is one of the easiest to style for wearing loungewear in public. Plus, they’re widely available! I prefer to wear a set with sneakers or boots, but when it’s warm, they also look cute with sandals.
The first lounge set below comes in tons of colors! The wide leg pants are so comfortable and are actually pretty chic! Click here to see it on me – it’s a video of how I styled this set for cold weather. It runs true to size.
This set (you can see the pants on me here) is a little easier to elevate because it already looks tailored. The top and bottom have a seam that give the set a little something extra than a plain sweatshirt and jogger set. It’s also great quality. You can wear this with ballet flats or loafers, but I still prefer sneakers. Whatever shoes you choose, I would wear a blazer or sweater coat to elevate this set. Or, you could wear a long puffer vest or a winter coat if you need one. The options feel pretty endless here!
Travel is the perfect occasion to wear loungewear outside of your house! I wrote an entire blog post on cute and comfortable travel looks.
I hope this post is helpful if you’ve been wondering how to wear some of the comfy clothes you have!
