Hi there, fashion lover! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of year, and it’s definitely my favorite meal of the year. It also coincides with my favorite season for fashion – the fall! Depending on where I’m spending Thanksgiving, sometimes I get dressed up and sometimes I spend most of the day in pajamas or loungewear. No matter your vibe, I put together a few outfit ideas and bump friendly outfit ideas for Thanksgiving this year.
What to Wear on Thanksgiving
First up are outfits that you can wear that look put together but are also comfortable for a large meal. If you’re hosting, meeting new family members over the holiday, or just want to look nice, these are great options. All of the skirts I included have fully elastic waistbands, so they are bump friendly or just super comfortable if you aren’t pregnant. I’m also sharing outfit ideas for jeans and pants, so skip ahead if you’re looking for those!

This brown pleated skirt is one of the most worn pieces in my closet this fall because it’s so bump friendly. There is a lot of stretch in the waistband if you need it. I frequently wear it with sneakers, but I also love to wear it with a nice sweater and boots, which is why it’s a great option for Thanksgiving. You can dress it up or down! In the first look, I’m wearing a mockneck sweater under an oversized shirt jacket. While I’m wearing boots with a heel, this skirt looks great with any shoes. My exact skirt is no longer in stock, but these colors are similar and they both have the stretchy waistband if you’re pregnant!

And here’s another way to wear this type of skirt – a monochrome look with a fun pop of color. I love the red blazer! I’d layer that particular blazer with a thinner sweater, like this one. The tweed camel blazer I linked works with thicker sweaters too. You could also wear this outfit without a blazer, which I love to do.

You can see my next outfit idea here. I snapped this photo for a quick try on! It would look really cute with a belt if you’d like to add some more shape to the look, or you could pair it with jeans. If you need another layer for warmth, it’s a great sweater to layer. I would choose this top for an extra layer. You can also wear the slip skirt with this crewneck sweater, which is cashmere and super warm. I bought the blue in this sweater as well – it’s really gorgeous in person. Both of these looks are bump friendly. The waistband on this skirt is also fully elastic!
PS: While I love the slip skirt with blue or a neutral, there are so many pretty red and green sweaters out right now that just scream holidays to me. Either way, you can’t go wrong with a cozy sweater and a skirt.

White Shirt Dress with Blazer
Okay, if you’re looking for a dress option, here are a few! I really lived in this white shirt dress below throughout all different stages of my pregnancy, and it’s a good option for warm or cold weather. For cooler weather, pair with a nice sweater or blazer, and voila, you have a Thanksgiving Day look without any stress. Or, you could wear it by itself with loafers or ballet flats if the weather is warmer where you are! I’ve worn it with both.
I’m wearing size tall medium for length and my bump. It fits a little oversized as you can see in the sleeves, so I roll those up – but I love that I can throw this in the washer and dryer without wondering if it will shrink! For reference, I’m 5’4. There are also other colors available.

I also love to wear this dress with an oversized blazer and chunky boots like I did below. Later in pregnancy, I’ve been wearing the shirt dress with sneakers!

Sweater and Tweed Jacket
This next look is also bump friendly, and I linked similar/exact pieces below. I love, love, love this black tweed jacket. It’s definitely a closet staple, and it also looks really cute with jeans or for any type of work outfit. My boots are actually incredibly comfortable even super late in pregnancy – just be careful walking in them if you’re pregnant because of the heel! I love the green for the holiday season in general, but this knee high boot comes in tons of colors! This outfit would also look cute with booties or boots with a chunky heel.

Sweater Dress
Okay, one more dress outfit. The look below is easily one of my fall favorites. I love a comfortable sweater dress that also looks put together. Mine is several years old from Mango, but I linked a similar one here in tan, and another similar one in tan [linked here] or white [linked here] from Mango. I also wrote a blog post on sweater dresses with tons of options, which you can read here! My entire look is linked below.

Casual Fall Outfit with Jeans
Jeans might not be the first pick for everyone for a day when you’re eating so much, but I know there are plenty of people who love denim as much as me, so here are a few denim outfit ideas for Thanksgiving. The first look includes a loose fitting sweater vest [linked here in blue, cream, and black], so you won’t feel too restricted! I paired it with a sweater coat, but you could also go with a turtleneck or button up shirt underneath the vest instead.

My outfit below is from the holidays last year, as you can see from the fun Christmas decorations. I really love to layer a v-neck sweater for warmth, and what better a holiday to feel cozy than Thanksgiving with all that comfort food you’re going to eat??

This next outfit is one I’ve been living in. I really love wearing this corduroy button up as a shirt jacket. This t-shirt is the other piece that I’ve gotten a ton of use out of already. I would size up one size in the button up if you want to wear it as a shirt jacket, and I’d also size up one size in the t-shirt depending on how fitted you’d like it to be. My exact t-shirt is definitely more of a fitted t-shirt.

To me, there is nothing like putting on your favorite sweater with jeans. My jeans in the outfit below are Zara (I love their denim). While I’m wearing a crewneck sweater, you could also wear a v-neck sweater, or pair jeans or leggings with a long cardigan! I would definitely wear this for a more relaxed Thanksgiving Day, and it’s a good outfit to wear with any shoes that fit the setting – slippers, sneakers, ballet flats, or boots! Basically, you can dress it up or dress it down.
