Hi there, beautiful gals! Can you believe it will be November this week? Where in the world did October and early fall go? It really feels like the holidays are nearly here, and they’re getting here so quickly. Are you ready? I’m just hoping the weather will get a little cooler, and then I’ll be ready!
Now that it’s November this week, Friendsgiving gatherings are just around the corner. I love the tradition of a potluck with friends – chatting around a fire, playing games, or just hanging out with friends with a holiday movie on in the background.

Is there anything you love to cook this time of the year? My favorite Friendsgiving and Thanksgiving dishes are the sides, like sweet potatoes with marshmallows! When I started dating my husband, I learned that dish is not as popular in New England as it is in the south, where I’m from! Okay, anyway, let’s get to the point of today’s post because there are some great options for Friendsgiving outfits out right now!
Friendsgiving Outfits
However you choose to celebrate Friendsgiving, I love finding the perfect outfit for it! So, today, I’m sharing a roundup of cute Friendsgiving outfits. I know every Friendsgiving has a different vibe. Some of my girlfriends love to get dressed up, while another Friendsgiving celebration will definitely be more casual and relaxed. So, if you’re looking for a casual Friendsgiving outfit, I have those too!
What to Wear to Friendsgiving
Comfortable and Elevated: A Sweater Skirt, Cardigan, and Boots
This first look is for you if you want something elevated but super comfortable. My sweater skirt and this matching sweater (different to mine, but also matching, and I’ve tried it on!) do both, and they are so cozy! I went with this neutral color outfit because it felt like fall, but it comes in several solid options as well. There’s olive green, black, navy, and natural. Natural is the color of my cardigan and the base of my skirt!
Let’s talk sizing. If you haven’t ordered from this brand before, be sure to read the sizing chart. I’ve ordered many items from them over the years, and I like to check the sizing chart myself. Their staff at the store told me they tend to run a little small, and I agree except for where the website tells you the item runs big! In case it’s helpful, I’m wearing a size medium skirt, and I’m wearing a size small cardigan. I definitely could’ve worn a size medium cardigan, but I liked the more fitted look with this outfit. So in summary, I would say to size up one size in the skirt, and one size in the cardigan if you’re between sizes. Shop my bag here in a slightly different variation of color combination.
I love the ribbed details of this sweater skirt. It’s a pretty heavy weight in a good way! I don’t really love a thin sweater skirt because I think it shows too much. The matching crewneck cardigan that I linked above is the exact same material, and it’s a perfect match. I actually wanted to purchase that one, but it wasn’t available!
I forgot my jewelry case at home for this trip, as these photos were taken in London. But, this outfit can be completed with your favorite accessories. I’d go for a dainty necklace and simple earrings. The sweater I linked has gorgeous button details at the wrist, but you could also style it with the sleeves slightly pushed up to show off bracelets or a watch.
I chose brown leather knee high boots in a banana boot style to complete my look, but you have so many options for shoes when it comes to this skirt! You could also wear pointed toe booties or your favorite pumps. I typically turn to suede boots for this type of outfit, but I really love the boots I’m wearing with it too. My boots are old, but this pair is also a banana boot style in a really deep brown like mine!
Jeans And Blazer Outfit For A Casual Friendsgiving
You know how certain pieces of clothing or certain styles make you feel like you? Well, this would be my go-to outfit for getting together with friends in the fall. Jeans, a sweater I love, and a blazer always make me feel like me! This outfit is perfect if you want an elevated casual look, which seems like a pretty popular vibe these days.
If you’re going to a Friendsgiving where you’ll be mingling a lot instead of sitting down to dinner, my boots are a great option. They’re a low heel, and they’re just insanely easy to walk in. I walked all over a neighborhood in DC in them and didn’t have any complaints. The jeans I’m wearing are also really comfortable, which is always a perk for jeans. I linked a similar blazer that I tried on in store and loved in a different color, but the cut is so good. It’s perfectly oversized without looking ridiculous, ha!
Denim Dress Or Corduroy Dress
I’ve posted about the denim dress I’m wearing here before, but I had to include it here because it’s actually a perfect option for Friendsgiving. It’s just so comfortable and flattering! Use my code NATALIEM20 for 20 percent off this dress! It looks so, so good with knee high boots – you can see how on me here! If you prefer a corduroy dress, you can also use my code for 20 percent off this brown corduroy dress. I would wear both of these with brown boots, or you could wear pretty much any knee high boot with the denim dress.
Gray Knit Skirt And Cashmere Sweater
This gray knit skirt and gray cashmere sweater aren’t a matching set, but monochrome is always so pretty this time of the year. You can wear this outfit to Friendsgiving, Thanksgiving, any other holiday events like Christmas dinner, and even work. If you’re wondering what shoes to wear, there are lots of good options. I personally love how gray and brown look together, but you could also style these with fun animal print boots, on-trend burgundy ballet flats, or classic black boots.
Midi Dress and Knee High Boots
A midi sweater dress is a perfect Friendsgiving outfit! I love that you can wear knee high boots with a midi dress to stay warm but also look super chic. I saw this dress in store, and it’s a really pretty color. Given it’s cashmere, it’s obviously very soft as well. I would wear this with boots and a belt to add a little extra shape.
Weekday Friendsgiving After Work
If you’re heading to a Friendsgiving right after work, or your Friendsgiving is a happy hour, these are great options for you! Tailored pants are a gorgeous foundation for any outfit, including outside of the office. Plus, there are so many options! You could go with straight leg, wide leg, or cropped tailored pants! I love and recommend these tailored trousers from Sezane. They’re so flattering in person (you can see them on me here), and I think the color is nice for the holidays. However, they come in a few other colors, including black, which is always a good idea! These outfits are also easy because you can wear them to work and straight to your Friendsgiving!
Okay, this blouse screams holiday events. It’s a step above a typical blouse with the metallic details. Plus, the smocking at the cuffs is so pretty.
A Classic Look: Denim and A Blouse
This blouse is perfect for a more relaxed and casual Friendsgiving. It’s flowy, which makes it really comfortable! The vertical embroidery is gorgeous in person, and it’s elongating! This is a great option if you have a shorter torso because it will help create the illusion of a longer one. This blouse is also low maintenance – you just need to put it on and go. You don’t need to worry about tucking it in.
Anyway, this will look cute with straight leg jeans and slim wide leg jeans. If you’re anything like me, you love jeans. I just love them. They work in many different ways, and I always feel so confident when I’m wearing a pair that I love. I would go for a cute black leather bag instead of a basket bag – I took this photo when it was still a little warmer out.
Okay, let me know in the comments what you think of today’s post. Did you find something you can wear to Friendsgiving?
