Here’s My Fall Wishlist And A Few Tips For Shopping For A New Season

Hello, hello friend! Thank you for stopping by today. Have you started window shopping for fall pieces yet? It seems like it’s everyone’s favorite season to shop for – I know it’s mine. There’s just something nice about cozy knits after a long summer of humidity! Okay, while putting together a fall wishlist is always fun, it’s also useful to help find gaps in your wardrobe too!

A Fall Wishlist Full Of Versatile Pieces

One of the best things about fall is how versatile so many pieces are. You can easily layer a blazer or your favorite jacket with different sweaters or blouses to create a completely different look.

Brown Loafers

I don’t have a pair of true brown or light beige loafers, and I know they’ll match just about every fall outfit I own. So, these are high on my wishlist. I love this pair in beige, and I already know these loafers are insanely comfortable because I own them in a different color. Okay, here are the brown and beige loafers I’m considering (to get one!). I ended up trying on this pair of loafers in Sezane over the weekend, and fell in love. They run true to size!

Relaxed Lady Jacket

I bought this popular lady jacket in two colors last year, and I’m so excited to see they’ve made a relaxed version this season. I love how that brings an entirely different yet still polished vibe to an outfit. These lady jackets, which in this case is just another way to describe a really well made and slightly heavier cardigan, look nice with jeans, trousers, dresses, or skirts. They’re the epitome of a versatile piece that you can rewear year after year. If you’re looking for something like this to add to your closet, I highly recommend getting one of the solid options first! I own the tan and I wear it all the time. I couldn’t decide between the different stripe options last year, but I ended up going with the black and white stripes. I’ve worn it so much that I think I’ll go with the navy and white stripes this year.

Gray Dress

This gray dress is on my wishlist because I love dresses for fall that you can layer. It’s a sleeveless dress, so it’s perfect for just that! You can wear a lot of different outerwear options over it to create different types of looks. I would go for an oversize denim jacket, a lady jacket, cardigan, or crewneck sweater, or you could wear a button up under it for work. If you like to accessorize with a belt, this dress will also look cute with a belt at the skirt. I love this outfit below, and I’ve been eyeing these boots since early this year! If you’re wondering what other shoes to wear with this dress, try brown or black loafers, sneakers, slingbacks, or ballet flats. It’s versatile!

Suede Jacket

If you’re looking for the perfect on-trend piece that you’ll still want to wear next year, a suede jacket is the answer. They’re already so popular for fall, but they’re also perfect to wear all the way through spring. This is the type of outerwear you’ll get a ton of use from. You can wear a suede jacket as your outerwear in the fall and spring, and treat it like a blazer throughout the winter. If you go with the second jacket, size down one size!

Short Sleeve Cashmere Top

If you’re like me, you might wonder when you’d wear a short sleeve cashmere top. But, I’ve actually thought a few times while getting dressed in the fall and spring that it would be nice to have one in my closet. They’re a nice option for early fall days where it’s in the 60s or even low 70s. These are the options I’ve been eyeing – I’m planning to pick one.

Burgundy Ballet Flats

These burgundy ballet flats are beautiful! There are two options here, whether you prefer patent or matte! I typically prefer matte, but I keep going back to the patent pair. I think they’d look really nice with a beige or brown, but you can certainly wear these with black or navy too!

Denim Dress

Denim is definitely having a big moment, and I love it. I already have a classic chambray button up that I can wear with my jeans, but I don’t have a denim dress! I’ve been eyeing this one (size down) to wear with knee high boots or with tights and flats! It is so, so soft! PS – If you need some denim on denim outfit ideas, check out this reel.

Straight Leg Jeans

Okay, if you’re wondering why I have a photo of this wishlist item, it’s because I already own two pairs of these straight leg jeans. But, I need to replace a pair I recently ripped – I’m down one pair. These are my go-to straight leg jeans. You can see how nice they look with boots, which I know I’ll want to wear this fall. They are a great price point at $110, and I love the length. Plus, I think they look way more expensive than they actually are. So, I’m planning to pick up another pair of these jeans. I just need to decide which color will work the best with my closet!

Brown Blazer

I’d like to replace my dreamy brown houndstooth blazer from Mango that I donated because it didn’t fit me after baby! I had this blazer for years and lived in it (see it here), so I noticed a huge gap in my closet last year. I’ve been eyeing this one, which I think was also available last year but it sold out pretty quickly. This will be perfect with jeans, trousers, or a skirt. I tend to wear blazers with a simple layering top, jeans, and any shoe!

A Few Tips On Shopping For A New Season

Okay, last but not least, these are a couple of tips I’ve learned as someone who, let’s say, enjoys browsing new season items a lot, ha.

Add what you like to your cart but reevaluate each piece before you actually check out. I like to ask myself if I already have something similar to the piece I want. And, if so, do I need two or does the one I have need to be replaced? This is a good way to make sure you aren’t purchasing something on impulse that you won’t end up wearing.

Can you think of a few outfits you can wear with the item right away? If the answer is yes, then it’s a versatile piece! These are the best pieces to invest in because you’ll wear them a lot.

Do we have anything in common on our fall lists? Are these tips helpful? Let me know what you think!
