Anyway, let’s talk gray cardigans. I am such a neutral lover because there’s a neutral for everyone. They’re just so versatile. And, gray is a perfect alternative to black and other neutrals. Just like black or brown, though, a gray cardigan will go a long way in your closet for both work and casual looks. So, I’m excited to share a few outfits that go with a gray cardigan. Gray Cardigan Outfit for A Fall or Winter City Trip
I wore my outfit above in London this fall, but I’ve been wearing this outfit a lot now too. A chunky gray sweater is perfect for the winter. I’ve said this before, but I feel like gray is the perfect winter color. My exact cardigan has been coming in and out of stock in gray, but it’s the first cardigan linked below.
Oversize Gray Cardigan for A Cozy And Polished Weekend Look
The cashmere cardigan I’m wearing below is obviously not gray, but it does come in gray! So, I created an outfit that would go with the gray version of the cardigan, but I wanted you to be able to see what it looks like on me. The same goes for the jeans that I’m wearing – I linked those in a blue denim! I wore this look out for a coffee run and some morning errands, but I’ve also worn it over my pajamas and with a slip skirt for a brunch with friends. It really does it all.
The cardigan is quite an oversized fit, so you may want to size down one size. I bought a size small when I was pregnant, and it still fits me today – I could’ve done small or XS because of the oversize fit, but small is my typical size. Click here and here to see how I styled it when I was pregnant. Anyway, I love the fit because you can easily layer under it or wear it buttoned up. Pair this with jeans or sweatpants, and you’ll be comfortable and put together.

Monochrome Gray Jeans and Gray Sweater
This look is one of my favorites from this post because I love this oversize cardigan and jeans together. It’s super chic but there’s an emphasis on comfort! Wear this for a day of shopping, errands, out to dinner, out for a coffee, to work on a casual Friday, or for hanging out at a friend’s house. Basically, wear it anywhere! I also linked a similar sweater and a better price point.
I have to mention these gray jeans. They’re Aritzia’s brand, Denim Forum, and they’re my most worn jeans in my closet (I have them in two shades of blue). These are just as good as 7s, J.Crew, Abercrombie, Joe’s, and Paige – all brands I’ve worn and love. The straight leg cut of these jeans are perfect to wear with booties, flats, or loafers, which is one of the reasons I love them. Plus, at 5’4, they make me feel a little taller! I purchase the regular length, but the fact that they sell in different lengths is just another reason to love these jeans. Okay, one last thing I have to say about these jeans is the fantastic price. They are regularly priced around $100, but they’re on sale for around $88. I find that they’re true to size. If you’re between sizes, I’d probably go with your bigger size – that’s what I did!
Gray Cardigan Loungewear Look To Wear All Year
This cardigan is the perfect cut to wear with a t-shirt and sweatpants. I love to wear a cardigan as loungewear – they’re just warmer than most sweatshirts.
Fitted Cashmere Cardigan for Date Night
This cropped cashmere grey cardigan is perfect for date night. It’s fitted, but super comfortable! Click here to see it on me in green in an XS. I didn’t purchase it, but I would’ve sized up one size if I did. It’s really soft and would pair well with high waist jeans. I love it with these wide leg jeans, which I have and wear often!
I love these jeans with either the gray or these creamy beige booties. These jeans are perfect to wear with booties, but they also work with knee high boots. I actually wore a similar outfit on Thanksgiving, which you can see here.
Gray V-Neck Cardigan for Work
This v-neck cardigan is perfect for work days where you’re tired, need something presentable to throw on, and just want to be comfortable. I’d pair it with a turtleneck for extra warmth. I love to wear a tailored pant, whether skinny leg trousers or straight leg trousers, with longer, less tailored cardigans!
The cardigan would look so cute with silver jewelry. I received this beautiful pendant necklace in sterling silver as a bridesmaid’s gift, and I wear it all the time. It would be pretty to pair with this look!
Dark Gray Cardigan to Wear With Anything
Everlane is a great brand for sweaters. I love this dark gray cardigan and the one in the next outfit idea because you can wear them with jeans, a dress, or a slip skirt. And, of course, loungewear at home!
The black border on this cardigan is just so pretty! I love it paired with these corduroys and a button up for work. It would also be super cute with black sweatpants for travel. This button up is gorgeous in person. It’s very soft and looks way more expensive than it actually is. Here I am in it when I tried it on in store in the blue and white stripe pattern.
Dark Gray Cardigan to Wear With A Slip Skirt
This ribbed gray cardigan is a good fit for the office on a cold day. You’ll be nice and warm in your cashmere turtleneck sweater layered under the cardigan. This look is also perfect if you have a meeting – it’s very polished but has the added benefit of being comfortable.
