Wearing blazers in a casual way is really popular right now, but I think it’s also a way to style blazers forever. Today, I’m sharing a guide on how to dress down a blazer and some casual blazer outfit ideas.

There are so many different blazers available, but one thing I’d avoid is wearing your a nice suit blazer in a casual way, like with jeans. Certain suit blazers just look better with the matching suit bottoms or work trousers in general!
Wear Your Blazer With A Simple Shirt For Casual Friday
One of the easiest ways to wear a blazer casually is to wear a t-shirt or long sleeve fitted tee under your blazer. These shirts create a relaxed vibe, but you can still wear this to work in a casual work environment or casual Friday in a lot of offices. I love to dress down a blazer with sweatpants, over a sweatshirt, or with a matching loungewear set. This is the perfect way to style a blazer for travel or a weekend. If you want to bring your blazer on a trip but you don’t have room for it in your suitcase, just layer it over your travel outfit in the same way you’d wear your winter coat.

Grey Wool Blazer And Jeans
If you’re looking for a blazer that works with casual outfits or for work, the one I’m wearing below is a great option. This is one of my favorite outfits for fall, winter, and spring because it’s comfortable and easy to put together. My wool blazer is the perfect outerwear for fall and spring. It’s also warm enough to wear with a scarf on a lot of winter days depending on where you live. It would look even better with a belt and jewelry, but I didn’t get that far in getting ready this day, ha. If grey isn’t your color, my blazer also comes in black and camel. I’m wearing size small.
Oversized Blazer With A Baseball Hat
If you love hats, a baseball cap is one way to always make your outfit more casual. I’m wearing ripped jeans and sneakers here, so this outfit was always going to be super casual. This outfit would look even better with jeans that aren’t ripped. I’d go with this pair today – they’re also straight leg jeans.
I recreated this look with the exact shoes and cashmere wrap – everything else is similar.
Linen T-Shirt & Linen Blazer
A linen t-shirt goes perfectly with a linen blazer in the spring and summer. Everything about this outfit feels casual to me – the linen t-shirt, the linen blazer with pushed up sleeves, jeans, and mesh ballet flats. If you work in a casual work environment, this type of look is perfect for you – being casual doesn’t mean your outfit isn’t still polished or work appropriate!
My shoes and sunglasses are exact. My jeans are also the same, but they’re in a different wash. I love this brown linen blazer – mine is old from Madewell!
Raw Hem Jeans
My black jeans have a raw hem, which makes the entire outfit casual. I wore this outfit to run around Georgetown with my family, but I’ve also worn it out with friends for a casual dinner. My jeans come in tons of different washes, including black, light and dark denim, and beige.

Work Friendly Casual Blazer Outfits
This jacket is perfect for casual blazer outfits. It’s one of my most worn jackets of all time at this point. I own it in several colors and fabrics because it’s the perfect jacket. It goes with anything, and you can wear it for a casual work look, an elevated work outfit, or to run errands. The khaki green version that I’m wearing is cotton, and it’s so soft! It’s the perfect jacket for fall and spring. Roll the sleeves to make it feel more casual too.
The denim version is also a great option to create a casual blazer outfit. Denim is the best fabric to make your outfit casual. I included a photo below of how I wore it with a skirt, but it looks really cute with corduroys or jeans.
Travel Day Blazer Outfit With Denim Blazer Jacket
A blazer with loungewear is one of my favorite blazer outfits. You’ll feel good in it, but mostly importantly, you’ll be comfortable. Just wear your favorite sweatpants with a t-shirt, fitted top, or sweatshirt, and layer it with a blazer. Travel Day Blazer Outfit With Classic Blazer
This is the type of outfit that you can easily wear a blazer over for a long travel day.
I’d trade my sweatshirt for a blazer and a comfortable t-shirt or long sleeve top. Styling a blazer for a travel outfit is both comfortable and convenient – it means you don’t have to find space to pack it in your suitcase. Sweater Pants And Blazer
This is the type of outfit you can wear to be comfortable while at brunch, walking around on a city vacation, enjoying a relaxing day with friends, or even for travel. You get the idea! These pants are super versatile for being casual. I recently purchased these sweater pants after doubting them for too long. I had a chance to try them on, and I was shocked at how comfortable and chic they look. I highly recommend them! I’m 5’4 and my waist is a 28, and I went with size medium. Style With Chunky Boots
Chunky boots are the perfect fall and winter shoe to keep you comfortable, stylish, and warm. If you want to dress down an outfit, chunky boots are one way to do it. I love to tuck mine into my jeans, but I also wear my jeans over them. I wore this outfit for a busy day outside with my family – I wanted to feel relaxed and dress casual.
My boots and blazer are old, but I’ve linked similar options below. My straight leg jeans are exact, and my sunglasses are just a different color.
