Hi there! How are you? Are you a blazer lover too? Or maybe you’re wondering how to style a blazer you saw and liked. You’ve come to the right blog post! I’ve always loved to wear a blazer, whether for work or a dinner date. I can remember so many days in grad school when I was late to leave for class and took time to throw on a blazer to complete my outfit, ha. Also, I still wear them just as much today!

Anyway, I’m writing this during the spring, which is a great season for linen blazers. I love when it’s not too hot but still cool enough to wear outerwear. Honestly though, linen is a staple fabric for spring, summer, and even into fall. It’s a lightweight material that allows you to stay cool and comfortable without giving up style! I feel like linen blazers just add a chic touch to any look.
I’ve always loved a neutral blazer because you can get so much use out of it, and a brown linen blazer is no exception. They’re just so easy to wear! So, I’m sharing a few tips today on how to style a brown linen blazer and some brown linen blazer outfits. But first, here a few brown linen blazers I love.
Eight Tips for Styling a Brown Linen Blazer And Brown Linen Blazer Outfit Ideas To Recreate
Neutral Blazer + Embroidered Denim = Cute Combo
Brown linen looks really nice against most denim, but I love how it popped against these embroidered blue jeans. The brown was a great anchor to wear with fun jeans since brown is a classic neutral. PS – you can also wear this type of brown linen blazer outfit with dress pants.
Wear It Buttoned Up With A Belt
The shades of brown and black in this belt are a great match with this blazer! I wore it through my jean belt loops, but the belt (gifted to me by Sezane) is also perfect to wear around the waist of the blazer if you button the blazer.
Style With An On-Trend Shoe Or Accessory
A classic closet staple like a blazer is a good option to pair with an on-trend piece. In this case, I went for an on-trend shoe. Okay, I’ve always said that ballet flats are timeless and they absolutely are, but they happen to be on trend right now, especially in mesh. I love the mesh pair I’m wearing for spring and summer when you want your feet to be able to breathe.
Wear Over A Fitted Dress
I love how a blazer looks over a fitted dress. Plus, if you have any insecurities in a fitted dress like I often do, this is a good way to disguise them. I’m also planning to wear this blazer with the sleeves pushed up over this linen dress I bought recently.
Push Up The Sleeves
I love how linen blazers look with the sleeves pushed up, especially when it’s warm or if you’re chasing around your busy toddler like I was! It also gives your outfit an effortless look. My exact blazer’s sleeves stayed up easily, and I didn’t use a hair tie or anything to keep the sleeves in place.
Wear With Other Tones of Brown In Different Textures
Don’t be afraid to pair your brown blazer with other brown pieces for a monochrome look. Monochrome looks are stunning! They always make me feel confident, so I hope they do the same for you if you give them a try! I also love to mix textures when I wear the same color or shades that are really similar to give my outfit some depth. For example, opt for a ribbed cotton tank top like the one I linked, so that your blazer will stand out.
I linked some really cute brown shoe options, but I also love to wear a different color shoe with monochrome looks. So, instead of wearing a brown shoe, go with something fun like yellow or red. Or, stick to a classic cream color if you want to keep it all neutral.
Wear With A Button Up For Work
While I’ve mostly worn a t-shirt under this for super casual occasions, I love how this outfit looks with a button up blouse or similar type of dress shirt for work. You could wear my exact look in a business casual office that allows jeans, but it also works with dress pants. In the summer, this sleeveless button up would be perfect to wear under the blazer.
Pair With Pale Yellow
Brown and pale yellow or a pastel yellow look so nice together, and it’s a good option to bring a fresh, warm weather feel to your look. While I linked quite a few yellow tops, you don’t have to go for a top or pants to incorporate yellow into your outfit – I love to wear pale yellow tweed shoes with brown, for example. So, you can add something subtle like another accessory too – a bag is a great option. I’ve been eyeing the one I linked below. Click here to see one way I’ve worn brown and pale yellow together.
Okay, I hope these tips help you style your brown blazer! I’d love to know what you wear with your brown blazer – let me know in the comments!
