What I Bought From the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Hi there, fashion lover! I shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in person last weekend, and I’m really excited to share what I found and the looks I put together. Each one of these outfits is a different type of vibe – boho, classic, and a little bit of edge!

First is this boho dress paired with sandals. The dress was a surprising find for me! I love midi dresses, but this boho vibe was a little different than what I normally pick. However, the material is so lightweight and comfortable that I’m happy I did. It stays pretty warm here in Washington, D.C. through at least September, but the material is really breathable so it will definitely still work for me (..which is why I bought it, ha)!

This lightweight dress is the perfect summer to fall transition piece

I’ve styled the dress in two different ways. The first photo above is an end of summer and early fall look with sandals (more on the sandals later, but they are amazing). The other look is definitely for chillier fall temperatures. Everything linked is included in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

I love how easily this dress can transition from a summer to fall look. You can also layer a long cardigan or sweater coat with it for added warmth in the fall. The boots and hat I linked are included in the sale and very similar to items I’m wearing (which I already owned).

This next looks feels a little more classic to me. You can wear these jeans with booties when it’s cold, but I love them styled with these pink, fun sandals from the sale for summer, spring, and early fall. If pink isn’t your thing, they also come in other neutrals (like the tan I styled above) and a really pretty baby blue! I’m wearing a top from J.Crew that I’ve shared before, but I also linked it below. It comes in pink and baby blue as well, and the pink is currently on sale. The linked jeans are the same brand as mine, and they’re the closest thing I could find online to mine – they might be slightly different, but the raw hem, wash, pockets, and the waist are the same.

Love these sandals with denim. They’re such a fun pop of color for summer!

Okay, I think this outfit below has a bit of an edge. The blazer and boots from my look below are included in the sale. I love these boots, and I really couldn’t decide between black and the white/cream color they also come in. However, I highly suggest black because I noticed a few smudges on the white/cream pair just from sitting out on the floor, so I doubt they will do well when you are wearing them out of the store. These boots are definitely made for dresses and skirt outfits. They fit fairly close to your leg so while you can fit a pair of socks or tights in them (which is good news for cooler weather), I don’t think you’ll be able to tuck them into your skinny jeans. I always go for my chunky boots in the winter, and I can’t wait to wear these!

Blazer & boots from the sale. I love a chunky boot and blazer combo!

This blazer is so, so cute, and the perfect black blazer for your closet, especially if you don’t already have one. I find that a basic black blazer is a good entry into the world of blazers! This one has a gorgeous cut. It cinches in at your waist and it is a longer length, so it actually feels like it’s giving you some extra height! I am wearing an XS here, and I think the blazer fits true to size (I might size up because of my growing bump). If the sleeves are too long on a blazer, which happens to me all the time, I just roll them at the wrist or have them tailored.

This cardigan and these boots are another favorite from the sale. I love the length of the cardigan! It looks a little shorter on the models online, but for reference on where it might fall on you, I’m 5’4. The length is one of the reasons I loved it. The other colors available are also really pretty – I saw most of them in store. The green and maroon are deep and bold – either would be perfect for fall.

The boots I’m wearing are the suede version, which is often my go-to for boots because I love the polished look of suede, but they are also included in the sale in black leather! But also.. don’t be scared of suede! I’ve owned suede boots from a wide range of brands, like Zara, J.Crew, and All Saints, and they all hold up extremely well. I wouldn’t proactively choose to wear them in the pouring rain, but I’ve never had an issue brushing out a stain or keeping them from getting damaged in a little bit of rain. I also don’t really obsess over any smaller marks that may get on them either, so if you like your shoes to look store bought whenever you wear them, you are better off with the black leather version! Anyway, the cut of these boots is what I love – the toe is a rounded square, the shoe is super comfortable, and it’s a great height because it will tuck under boyfriend and straight leg jeans. You can also wear these with skinny jeans. The suede color is a true neutral, so I will wear it with black, navy, gray, and pops of color.

I plan to style these in fall with a button down like above, but obviously you can pair these with any sweater, top, or jacket when it’s colder.

Without a doubt, the shoes available in the sale were the highlight to me. I couldn’t believe how many options there were, including types of shoes – boots, sandals, loafers, sneakers, etc, but also price range. I picked up several pairs of shoes that I styled above, but as always, versatility was key to me. I know I can get a lot of wear out of each pair.

My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale shoe finds except my black boots!

I’ve already talked in a little more detail on the boots I bought, but I am really in love with the two pairs of sandals and wanted to share more! I didn’t have them on my wishlist, but I saw them in store, and I think these are my favorite sale find. In fact, I loved this pair of sandals so much that I bought them in two colors – tan and pink. I recently ruined a pair of tan sandals that I’ve had for almost a decade, so I was really excited to find these. They will be my new go-to sandals for weddings and nice occasions, but I’ve already worn them more casually with jeans and everyday outfits, which I styled above. While I often dress in neutrals, pink is probably my favorite color, and I just really loved this particular shade of pink! They’re perfect to pair with a summer dress or with a pair of jeans now or in early fall (and of course, in the spring). Each pair of shoes I purchased fit me true to size. I wear a size US 6.

In addition to shoes, the sale is also a great time to stock up on deals on basics! Linking below what I found and love. They are one size fits all.

Next are some cozy things! I am always on the hunt for comfy loungewear, so I was happy to find this set in store. It’s lightweight and the drawstring waist has a lot of give, so it’s not tight – truly perfect for lounging. I’ve noticed this set has been coming in and out of stock, but I’m going to link it in case it is in stock now.

So, while I loved many other items in the sale, I obviously did not buy everything I wanted. Below are all pieces I’ve seen in person that I personally would have liked to purchase but did not.
