Hi there! Welcome! January, February, and March always feel a little cold and gray here on the east coast, so I like to find things to do to keep busy after the holiday season! Brunch with friends and family is something I always enjoy this time of the year. It’s such a popular thing to do around here, so today’s post is all about what to wear to a winter brunch.
I love bundling up in a comfortable and chic look for a long meal – maybe there’s a bloody mary, maybe there are mimosas, or maybe regular orange juice! Whatever you prefer, I’ve put together a bunch of outfits that will keep you stylish and warm while you spend time with people you love – and enjoy good food. I’ve also attended brunches for work events, so I’m including outfits that fit into a work dress code too!

12 Winter Brunch Outfit Ideas
Okay, let’s look at winter brunch outfit ideas! Whether you’re looking for a casual winter brunch outfit or something with classic elegance, I’ve included all different types of looks.
Suede Jacket With Cashmere Sleeveless Sweater
Layering is really the key to dressing this time of the year. I recently wore this suede jacket under my super cozy puffer coat. I love this suede shirt jacket because it’s so easy to layer over and under. I typically wear a small in this shirt jacket, but in this version, I sized up one size to a medium because I knew I’d want to wear heavier shirts or sweaters under it. The sleeves come up a little longer on me because I sized up, but you can roll the cuff up. Or, when it’s fall or spring, you can push up the sleeves. I love how this suede jacket looks good with jeans and booties or over a dress.
I linked a pair of grey boots I would wear with this outfit and a couple of puffer coats. Both of mine are old.
The Basics: Jeans and A Striped Sweater
This is one of my favorite outfits for a late winter, early spring brunch. You can never go wrong with a striped sweater, jeans, and your favorite shoes. Speaking of shoes, sock tights are a great way to wear ballet flats or loafers in the winter. They add a feeling of classic elegance to your look. Plus, they keep your feet warm, and you can still keep both types of shoes in rotation! You can read my blog post on how to wear loafers in the winter here.

Fun Sweater And Corduroys For Cozy Brunch
This sweater is a good option if you love neutrals but would like to wear something fun! The colors are beautiful, but they aren’t too overbearing. Since this sweater is made up of materials like alpaca and wool, you’ll be really warm! I love how this sweater looks with corduroys or with jeans. You can also dress it up with a brown skirt like this one.
Fun Sweater With Jeans And Brown Boots
This is another outfit you can wear to winter brunch with this sweater, which is exactly what I did in Boston! Click here to shop this outfit – it’s one of my favorites because you don’t have to do anything but put it on and it looks good! These jeans would also look good with a chunky knit sweater like this one. I love the cable knit and oversized fit, so you’ll be warm and comfortable.
Grey Blazer and Cashmere Sweater Outfit for Brunch Anywhere
Grey is such a good color for this time of the year! I love this grey blazer and sweater combination for anything. Whether you’re heading to brunch after a work conference or just going out with friends, this outfit is chic enough for both occasions and also work appropriate. I love most oversized blazers, but this one is exceptional because it somehow still has shape to it when you’re wearing it. You also won’t feel restricted when you’re eating! You can shop my outfit here.
Maxi Skirt With Shirt Jacket
A maxi skirt is a chic alternative to jeans or other pants. I absolutely love this skirt, and it even comes in a grey wool-blend option for winter! You can wear this outfit in all different winter climates, whether you layer it with a cozy coat or you live somewhere that you don’t need an extra layer! I’m wearing this skirt in the petite length and did not need it altered at all.
Wide Leg Jeans for Winter Brunch
If you’ve read any of my other blog posts, you might’ve seen this photo (and some of the others here) before. But, I love to rewear my looks as much as possible – it’s the point of how I shop – so I hope you don’t mind. I always aim for versatility when I put together a look, and I hope you can see how many different ways you can wear the pieces I share. These wide leg jeans are an example of jeans I’ve worn so many times and for different occasions. I recently wore them on a date with my husband, and I also wore them to dinner with girlfriends. You can add a fun edge to them with a leather jacket.
Anyway, they’re a great jean option for a brunch where you want to dress up a little bit but still wear denim. Pair them with any top or sweater. If you choose to wear a blazer, lady jacket, or cardigan, I would go for a shorter or cropped style so the jeans can accentuate your legs!
The jeans I linked are the same as mine but they’re a different wash. I had mine hemmed to go with a few pairs of boots I knew I wanted to wear them with! I always check the inseams when I’m shopping for pants. At 5’4, anything with an inseam of 28 and under is fine to wear without being hemmed. If the inseam is longer than that, I’ll need to have them hemmed to wear with flats. Everything else linked is a similar vibe!
Black Culotte Jeans and Combat Boots
This is a brunch outfit you can wear anywhere, and it’s a great option for a city vacation. I wore this out for a brunch with my family to celebrate a family birthday. Jeans and booties of any kind are a reliable look for a cute winter brunch outfit.
My jeans are exact and everything else is similar!
Occasion Dress For A Celebratory Brunch
These dresses are for you if you’re attending an event that’s over brunch. Think a baby shower, engagement celebration, bridal celebration, birthday brunch, or any other type of celebration! I would pair any of these dresses with boots!
Trendy Denim and A Classic Sweater
This outfit is another option to consider if you’re heading to a casual brunch. You could wear booties with this look too. My ribbed half zip sweater is a classic piece that pairs well with these trendier jeans, and it would also look nice with skinny jeans or wide leg jeans. I love the color of my sweater, but it comes in a lot of other options too. I like a bracelet sleeve when you’re eating so it doesn’t get in your way!
Work Appropriate Brunch Outfits
This is another outfit that you can wear to a work brunch and these knit pants can be styled for just about any dress code – unless you need something more elegant like a dress. Anyway, I’ve been in several jobs where I attended a breakfast for work and needed to dress the part! I love this look for a work breakfast or work brunch. You’ll be comfortable, work appropriate, and chic in either of these outfits.
Wrap Sweater Winter Brunch Outfit Idea
My cashmere wrap sweater has been a closet hero for me ever since I purchased it during Black Friday sales. It’s super high quality and so, so soft. The tie waist is positioned perfectly, so it looks nice with a tank top under it like I’m wearing here or without the tank top. You can see how I styled it for a fun double date without a tank top in this video.
